The essential oils in the BERKANA line are 100% pure and genuine and they do not contain any synthetic or petro-chemical dyes, fragrances, preservatives or dilutants.

They are valuable not because they are standardized and diluted to meet industrial standards but rather because of their precious uniqueness.
BERKANA commits to providing only genuine 100% pure essential oils,labeled accurately as to the plant they originate from and containing no added elements. BERKANA sources certified organic or Demeter/ biodynamically farmed oils where possible. In Demeter cultivation – as in all certified organic cultivation – no pesticides, herbicides or fungicides are used.Demeter farmers, however, also compost, use crop rotation, hand weed and utilize other specific preparations to enhance the growth of the plants. Biodynamics is a science of life-forces, a recognition of the basic principles at work in nature, and an approach to agriculture which takes these principles into account to bring about balance and healing.
The certification process is a good safeguard against many of the unscrupulous practices that occur in this industry and ensures the purest product without concentrated undesirable synthetic chemicals. This is vital when essential oils are to be used for health and healing applications. It takes a great deal of plant material to create even a small amount of essential oil. If plants are contaminated with pesticides, they may be present in the final product. By choosing organic agriculture you are supporting the environment and your own health. There are some oils that are impossible to certify because they are not currently grown organically, are grown in countries lacking a certification process, or they only grow wild. In these instances oils are sourced from wild grown or untreated sources, and labeled accordingly. All oils are subjected to a minimum of GC/MS testing to ensure the purest product without undesirable synthetic chemicals.
