Red Mandarin is a descendant of the indigenous fruit from South China. It is also a European ancestor to the American Tangerine. There are subtle similarities and differences both analytically and in scent and flavor. The Red Mandarin has both an attractive aroma and color. Like other dark citrus oils it is orange-brown or almost red.
NOTE that the Latin name of true Mandarin is "citrus deliciosa". There are oils on the market being labeled Mandarin with the Latin name "citrus reticulata" (Tangerine). They will not have the same calmative properties.
The scent of this oil is very sweet, warm and faintly floral like orange blossoms.
